COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will celebrate its 2013-14 season at the annual awards dinner. The dinner, to be held on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. CT, is open to all Golden Eagles basketball fans.
The 2013-14 women's basketball season has ended, but the Golden Eagles would like to share the memories and recap the season with its fans. Diamond Henderson received many accolades this season, such as being named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-OVC First Team, Preseason All-OVC Women's Basketball Team, College Sports Madness OVC Player of the Week, Adidas OVC Player of the Week, All-OVC First Team, and she became the 27th member of the Tennessee Tech 1,000 point club! However, she is not the only player to be recognized this year: T'Keyah Williams was selected for the College Sports Madness Preseason All-OVC Second Team; Molly Heady was selected for the Preseason All-OVC Women's Basketball Team; Hannah Goolsby was twice named the Adidas OVC Freshman of the Week; and Kayla Brewer was selected as an Adidas OVC Newcomer of the Week.
To hear more about these highlights, fans are invited to attend the 2013-14 Awards Banquet. It will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 7p.m., at Nick's Restaurant in Cookeville. The cost is $20 per person and will be paid directly to the restaurant. The total includes dinner, beverage, dessert, tip and tax.
