COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Let's try this again! At many home games
throughout the remainder of the 2013-14 season, selected Tennessee
Tech student-athletes from a wide variety of Golden Eagle teams
will "take over" the @TTUGoldenEagles Twitter account and tweet out
their thoughts and reactions from the game. In addition to updates
about the game, the guest tweeters will run contests, ask for
feedback, retweet posts from fans in the stands, and bring a new
dimension to the popular social media outlet.
Folks who follow Tennessee Tech athletics on Twitter
@TTUGoldenEagles will see the new feature starting Thursday night
when Ellie Iaciofano, a former soccer player and currently on the
women's basketball roster, takes over tweeting during the men's
basketball game against Eastern Illinois. Sophomore Cody Dodd, a
Tech volleyball player, will take over for the women's game on
Saturday against SIUE, while senior pitcher Ross Spurgeon will take
over for the men's game later that evening. Monday night's women's
game versus Eastern Illinois will be taken over by junior guard
Mitchell Hill.
Iaciofano was set for the first Twitter Takeover in December, but
the game was cancelled.
Tech fans are encouraged to engage with the @TTUGoldenEagles
Twitter account during games, and to help spread the news of Tech
athletics. Also, for fans who do not currently follow or do not
have a Twitter account, they are encouraged to create an account
(free) and follow for a unique way to get athletics updates.
