WCTE TV to air eight Golden Eagle basketball games starting next Thursday

Telecasts begin next Thursday with men's game vs. Tennessee State

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Continuing its long-standing support of Tennessee Tech athletics, Cookeville television station WCTE TV has announced plans to air eight Golden Eagle basketball games from Eblen Center during the 2013-14 season. The station's program lineup includes four women's games and four men's games.

Program producer/director Rick Wells announced the program schedule, which begins next week and runs through mid-February.

The first game to be televised will be Thursday night, Jan. 30, with the men's contest against Tennessee State, with tipoff slated for 7 p.m. The cameras will be aimed at the action for both games Saturday (Feb. 1) during a doubleheader against Belmont, and also on Monday night (Feb. 3) for the women's game against Tennessee State.

"Our entire staff is excited about the opportunity to continue to televise Tennessee Tech basketball this season, and we hope to provide the best coverage possible," Wells said. "This season promises to be extremely exciting with both teams right in the thick of the hunt for OVC championships, and being able to provide television coverage should add to the excitement."

Desiree Duncan serves as the Executive Producer of the telecasts. Local sports personality Buddy Pearson will call the play-by-play for all eight games, with color commentary from two familiar and informed voices -- former men's coach Frank Harrell will provide analysis of the men's games, while Hall of Fame women's coach Bill Worrell adds insight during the women's action.
