MASON, Ohio – A second-consecutive doubles championship by Alex Alvarez and Davids Spaks helped highlight another strong weekend of action for the Tennessee Tech tennis team in the James O’Connell Memorial Tournament.

CLARKSVILLE – The Mark Klysner era of Tennessee Tech men’s tennis started off strong as the Golden Eagles won seven of nine doubles matches and eight of 10 singles matchups at Austin Peay’s Brian Coons Fall Tournament in Clarksville.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference continued its annual recognition of academic success as the league announced its OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll on Monday. Tennessee Tech received 150 honorees on the list for the 2024-25 academic year among the overall list, which included a record 1,792 student-athletes – breaking the previous mark of 1,718 during the 2020-21 academic year. That total also included 89 student-athletes who compete in non-OVC championship sports that do not compete in another conference.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference celebrated academic excellence on Friday as the league announced its annual OVC Academic Medal of Honor winners. When the final tally was revealed, Tennessee Tech had 34 student-athletes receive the award for the 2024-25 academic year. The OVC Academic Medal of Honor is given annually to the student-athletes who achieve the highest grade point average in a conference-sponsored sport. Every Academic Medal of Honor recipient for the 2024-25 academic year achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

An experienced head coach with a proven track record of success, Mark Klysner has spent close to 20 years in charge of a collegiate program, including the last 15 years as head coach on the Division I stage.

Tennessee Tech Athletics is extending an invitation to join them in the celebration of the retirement of Tech tennis head coach Kenny Doyle.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It was a valiant effort in a day of lasts for the Tennessee Tech tennis team on Saturday, as the Golden Eagles fell to in-state rival Belmont in the final regular season and Horizon League match of the season at Tech Tennis Courts in Cookeville.
