The Ohio Valley Conference Board of Presidents has announced fall competition and championships in the sports of football, men’s and women’s cross country, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball will be postponed due to the concerns and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference Board of Presidents has reiterated its intention for the Conference to commence competition this fall if the facts surrounding the pandemic support it. The Board agreed to postpone the start of competition in fall Olympic sports until September 17 and to conduct conference-only competition in women’s soccer and volleyball. “Seeing the pictures, it’s awful,” Marolt said. “It hurts as much as seeing what happened here with the tornado. It’s so tough seeing that happen in an area you’ve competed in or gone to school at.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – It took 110 minutes on Friday, and even though the Tennessee Tech women’s soccer team struck first on Friday against Eastern Illinois, the Panthers quickly evened the match back up and the score stayed knotted through the second overtime session, a 1-1 tie.
The Golden Eagles extend their unbeaten streak to four games as they improve to 6-5-5, 4-1-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play.
“It was a close, hard-fought game and I couldn’t be prouder of our effort,” said Tech head coach Steve Springthorpe. “It went back and forth through the first half, but we played well in the second half. I really liked our intensity as we were focused and attempted to get things going.
“While we didn’t come away with the win, we are coming home with a point, which is crucial as we’re coming down the stretch in OVC play and for tournament seeding.”
