JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team's first tilt in nearly a month swung East Tennessee State's direction as the Bucs claimed a 6-1 victory Tuesday afternoon.

Darek Kuczynski was responsible for Tech's lone point behind a 7-5, 0-6, 10-1 singles triumph over Francisco Lamas in the No. 4 position. The three-set solo battle was one of two during singles play with Peter Kalocsai securing a win over Oliver Dao in the top slot after Dao retired late in the third set.

ETSU (5-4) picked up straight-set wins in the other four singles matchups en route to the club's fourth-straight victory. Martin Garcia-Ripoll collected a 6-3, 6-4 nod over Murilo Burckhardt in the No. 2 meeting, while Pedro Cressoni notched a 6-1, 6-3 triumph against Lucas Bitzer in the No. 3 spot and Juan Andres Listo earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ricard Garavi Yepez in the No. 5 get-together.

Carlos Gonzalez rounded out ETSU's singles attack with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Elia Lauper in the No. 6 showdown.

The Golden Eagles (1-8) did manage a win during doubles play thanks to a Lukas Krause and Oliver Dao 6-3 victory against Pedro Cressoni and James Sim in the No. 3 position, but the Buccaneers captured the other two tandem tangles to pick up the point.

Peter Kalocsai and Martin Garcia-Ripoll carded a 6-4 triumph over Lucas Bitzer and Elia Lauper in the No. 1 spot, while Francisco Lamas and Juan Andres Listo tallied a 6-1 win against Darek Kuczynski in the No. 2 meeting.

Tech will now prepare for a 19-day layoff before the purple and gold head to Memphis on Mar. 23 to tussle with the Tigers. First serve is slated for noon CT.
