COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- All members of the U.S. military, both active
and retired from all branches of services, plus those who work in
Public Safety fields -- and their families -- are the invited
guests for Tennessee Tech's doubleheader against Morehead State
Saturday night in Eblen Center. In addition to being recognized,
the invitation features free admission to the games.
Tech's doubleheader against Morehead State has grown in importance
as both Golden Eagle teams are seeking crucial victories in their
quest to reach the OVC Tournament. It's the perfect night to call
on the military to help back Tech.
It's being called Military Appreciation Night and Public Safety
Appreciation Night, in recognition of the men and women who give
the gift of Freedom to all Americans and keep us safe every day.
Tech invites all military personnel, both active and retired, as
well as persons working in law enforcement, emergency and first
responder fields, to be guests at the game along with their
immediate family members. The offer is available by showing proper
identification, and tickets can be obtained either in advance or at
the game.
The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game to
follow at 7:30 p.m.
As part of the night's activities, three military families will be
recognized from the Wounded Warriors Project. The three families
have been selected to attend the OVC Tournament in Nashville as
Tech's guests, with funds provided through a collection that will
take place by the Tennessee Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
during Saturday's games.
