Hannah Goolsby earns second OVC Freshman of the Week honor

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech's Hannah Goolsby earned her second adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor of the season on Tuesday for her impressive performances against SIU Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois. The award is voted on by conference Sports Information Directors.

The 5-foot-9 Cookeville native recorded back-to-back double-figure scoring outings for the first time in her career. She scored 10 points to go with one rebound, two assists and one steal in the victory over SIUE. In the win over Eastern Illinois, she put up the second-highest point total of her career with 18. She added two rebounds, one assists and one steal. She hit four three-pointers versus the Panthers and went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc for the week.

The OVC Player of the Week award was given to Heather Butler of UT Martin, Newcomer of the Week went to Taylor Mills of Belmont, and the other Co-Freshman of the Week went to Ashia Jones from UT Martin.

The Golden Eagles hit the road again as they head to Tennessee State for a 6 p.m. CT match-up on Thursday, Jan. 16, and then head to UT Martin for a 7 p.m. game on Monday, Jan. 20.
