Hot-shooting Hogs remain perfect as they down the Golden Eagles

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team was unable to stop undefeated University of Arkansas on Friday night as the Razorbacks shot lights out from the field to win 79-53.

The Razorbacks (12-0) finished the game shooting a blistering 53.8% from the field, which was ignited by an impressive 58.8% from deep. Arkansas hit 10 three-point shots, half of which came from Razorback guard McKenzie Adams who hit five, three in the first half.

The Golden Eagles (3-9) maintained a 13-point deficit at the half, and maintained that margin for most of the second half with pressure defense as they forced the Razorbacks into 18 turnovers. However, the Golden Eagles gave the ball up 22 times, and the Razorbacks took advantage down the stretch and kept increasing the margin until the final buzzer.

The Golden Eagles won the rebounding battle as they pulled down 29 to Arkansas' 28. UA's Jessica Jackson grabbed a game-high 11 boards to add to her game-high 18 points. Junior Candace Parson led Tech on the boards as she pulled down six.

Junior T'Keyah Williams led the Golden Eagles in scoring for the second-straight game with 12 points, and junior Diamond Henderson added 11 as she continued her double-digit game streak to nine-straight games. Parson added nine points to her six boards, also adding two blocks. Henderson added three rebounds and three steals as well.

Jackson was matched by Adams who also added 18 points for the Razorbacks, and Kelsey Brooks added 13 points off the bench. Calli Berna dished out a game-high eight assists, with three points and four boards.

Arkansas' bench outscored the Golden Eagles bench 31-11, but the Golden Eagles got the advantage in the paint as they scored 28-16.

The Golden Eagles go on an eight day break for Christmas and return to action as the open up Ohio Valley Conference play against Jacksonville State on Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. CT.
