PADUCAH, Ky. – It was a split day for the Tennessee Tech men's golf team at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic Monday, as the Golden Eagles finished 1-1 in their lone match-play event of the year at the Country Club of Paducah.

The purple and gold fell in its opening tilt with Lindenwood by a 4-2-0 score. Sophomore Anders Larson picked up one of the two wins for the Golden Eagles, defeating his Lion counterpart 3&1. Picking up a 5&4 decision for Tech's second win was senior Mark McDearman.

The purple and gold bounced back for a dominant 6-0-0 victory over Eastern Illinois in the second match-up of the day. Larson earned the toughest test of the round and came out on top, eking out a 1UP victory.

Fellow sophomore Haden Maxwell backed him up with a blowout victory of his own, besting his Panther partner 5&4. Senior Sean Anderson joined the convincing showing with the biggest victory of the day, topping EIU 6&5.

Junior Jackson Skeen left no doubt in his W on the day, delivering a 5&4 romp for the Cookeville crew. Rookie Alex Broyles fought for a comeback victory of his own on the day, rallying from a 2-hole deficit for a 2&1 victory. McDearman closed out the shutout for the purple and gold with a 4&3 win to finish 2-0 on the day.
