CINCINNATI, Ohio. – Competing in the final round at the Xavier Invitational presented by Gateway Logisitcs Tuesday afternoon, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team matched its best round of the week at Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati.

The purple and gold matched its first-round total of 295 on the day, finishing 10th among 11 teams with a three-round total of 894. WKU captured the tournament title after posting an even-par 840. Host Xavier's AJ Adams took home individual medalist honors, recording a 67-70-69=206 while competing separately from the team.

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles with a top-25 finish was Haden Maxwell, tying for 24th among 68 golfers. The sophomore tallied a pair of birdies with 12 pars as part of a 74 on Tuesday, totaling a 220 for the week.

Junior Jackson Skeen delivered the top round of the week on Tuesday, tying for 30th overall after firing an even-par 70. The veteran racked up four birdies on his way to a 222 across all three rounds. 

Just one shot back of Skeen in the final standings was Anders Larson, ripping off a 223 while tying for 36th. After turning in scores of 74 and 73 on Monday, the sophomore followed it up with a 76 and four birdies.

Next up for the Golden Eagle lineup was Alexander Bassel, tying for 51st with a 230. He managed two birdies on the day for a 75. Rounding out the Tech participants at the event was senior Mark McDearman, carding an 81 as part of a 241.

Tech is set to wrap up its fall campaign at the end of the month at the Bryan National Men's Collegiate. Hosted by UNCG at the Champions Course at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C., the event will run from Sunday, Oct. 29 through Tuesday, Oct. 31.
