Tech opens spring with Peoples Golf Championship at Sea Palms Resort

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team opens the spring portion of its 2023-24 campaign with a trip to Georgia and the Peoples Golf Championship at Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island Thursday through Saturday.

PEOPLES GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP: Mar. 7-9, 2024 – 54 holes (18 Thursday, 18 Friday, 18 Saturday), located at the par-71, 6,664-yard Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga. Play will begin Thursday with 18 holes of action with split tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. CT. 

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Anders Larson, sophomore Haden Maxwell, senior Mark McDearman, junior Jackson Skeen, and senior Sean Anderson

THE COMPETITION: The 22-team field consists of host Western Carolina, as well as Bellarmine, Belmont, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Davidson, Drexel, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, Long Island, Marshall, Morehead State, Murray State, Siena, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin, UTRGV, WKU, Winthrop, Wofford, Wright State, and Xavier.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "After a long off-season and prep this winter, we are ready to go for our first event of the spring. The guys are excited and ready to get down to St. Simons Island to take part in this event. We look forward to the opportunity to compete with 21 other teams and get the semester started."
