Tech men's golf team to compete in Cincinnati at Xavier Invitational

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team heads right back out to competition with a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Xavier Invitational presented by Gateway Logistics. The two-day event will take place at Maketewah Country Club Monday, Oct. 16 through Tuesday, Oct. 17.

XAVIER INVITATIONAL: Oct. 16-17, 2023 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-70, 6,992-yard Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. Play will begin Monday with 36 holes of action with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start. Tuesday's final round will feature another shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Jackson Skeen, sophomore Anders Larson, sophomore Haden Maxwell, junior Alexander Bassel, and senior Mark McDearman

THE COMPETITION: The 11-team field consists of host Xavier, as well as Austin Peay, Butler, Eastern Kentucky, High Point, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, St. John's, Tennessee Tech, and WKU. Competing with individuals only is West Virginia.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "It is a quick turnaround for us as we now head to Cincinnati for our second appearance at Xavier's event. Last year, we were at TPC River Bend and this year, the event moves back to the newly renovated Maketewah Country Club. It is a great field and we are excited for another opportunity at an amazing golf course."
