COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A new season is on the horizon for the Tennessee Tech men's golf team, as head coach Polk Brown officially revealed the team's 2023-24 schedule Wednesday afternoon with a focus on the fall slate of events.

"Three new events and two we have played in before comprise one of the strongest fall schedules we have set in several years," Brown expressed. "We're looking forward to the challenge ahead and can't wait to get to work."

To open the 2023-24 campaign, the Golden Eagles will head south to Bowling Green, Fla. for the Allstate Streamsong Invitational from Sept. 11-13. The three-day event, hosted by in-state rival Lipscomb, will be held at Streamsong Golf Resort on the Black Course. This will mark Tech's first trip to the tournament.

"We will be kicking off the semester at a world-renowned golf resort at Streamsong near Tampa," Brown said. "We are so excited to play in Lipscomb's event at a world-class venue."

Next on the docket is a familiar trip as the purple and gold head west for UT Martin's Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn. Competing at Jackson Country Club from Sept. 18-19, Tech will look to improve on last year's fourth-place showing at the event, with five of the six Golden Eagles who competed back for the fall. Overall, Tech has turned in seven top-three finishes, including a win and three runner-up showings, in 10 previous stints at the tournament.

"We'll make the trip back to Jackson Country Club to compete in the Grover Page Classic again this fall," Brown explained. "UT Martin hosts an outstanding event each year and we always enjoy going back."

The Carolina Cup, hosted in Spartanburg, S.C. by USC Upstate, will represent another new wrinkle to the Tech slate this fall, with play set to run from Oct. 8-10. Three days of play will take place at The Carolina Country Club.

"This will be the first time we have played in the Carolina Cup and at The Carolina Country Club," Brown explained. "We are thankful for USC Upstate for giving us this opportunity to play in this tournament. It looks to be a great field and a great challenge for the guys."

One of just a pair of two-day events for the Golden Eagles in the fall is the Xavier Fall Invitational, running from Oct. 16-17. Hosted by Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio, this year's version of the tournament Tech competed in last season will take place at Maketewah Country Club.

"We played in Xavier's event last year, but this year they have moved it back to the original host course at Maketewah, which was closed last year due to renovations," Brown said. "I have heard nothing but great things about this golf course and I know Coach [Brian] Arlinghaus will put on a great tournament just as he did last year. We're excited to get back up to Cincinnati for this one."

Rounding things out for the purple and gold is another new event, the three-day Bryan National Men's Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C. Taking place at the Champions Course at Bryan Park, the tournament will close out the month, spanning Oct. 29-31.

"Lastly, we will head to Greensboro at the end of October to end the fall," said Brown. "UNCG has a great program and we look forward to wrapping up the fall with this inaugural event."

On the docket for the Golden Eagles in the spring are five events, including the Ohio Valley Conference Championships which returns to The Shoals and the Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala. for the first time since 2021. Brown and the Golden Eagles will release more details on the 2023 spring schedule following the fall season.
