Golden Eagles head to Spartanburg, S.C. for The Carolina Cup

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team makes its way east for its next test of the 2023-24 campaign, competing at The Carolina Cup at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. from Sunday, Oct. 8 through Tuesday, Oct. 10.

THE CAROLINA CUP: Oct. 8-10, 2023 – 54 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 7,071-yard Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. Play will begin Sunday with 18 holes of action with split tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. CT. Tech will compete in round two on Monday, also featuring split tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday's final round will feature split tee times starting at 7:00 a.m.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Jackson Skeen, sophomore Anders Larson, senior Mark McDearman, junior Avery Irwin, and sophomore Haden Maxwell.

THE COMPETITION: The 15-team field consists of host USC Upstate, as well as Central Michigan, Charleston Southern, Jacksonville, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Lafayette, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Texas, Tennessee Tech, UAB, UConn, UTSA, and Winthrop.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "After a few weeks of work, we are ready to get back on the road as we hit the final stretch of the fall semester with three events in four weeks.   This is our first time at the Carolina Cup, and the guys are excited to play in an outstanding event and field. We look forward to the opportunity and challenge ahead."
