Golden Eagles wrap up 2010-11 regular season at home Saturday against Jacksonville State

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the end of the 2010-11 regular season just one game away, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will look to claim the Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship Saturday against Jacksonville State. 

This will be the 15th meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Gamecocks, with TTU owning the series edge at 11-3. Tech won their last encounter back in December as the Golden Eagles took the 79-63 decision.
 
Junior guard Tacarra Hayes recorded a double-double against JSU with 31 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore guard Kylie Cook added 15 points, shooting 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
 
Tech (21-6, 14-3 OVC) currently owns a 1.5 game lead over UT Martin and Morehead State and has posted its 26th 20-win season. The last time the Golden Eagles reached the 20-win plateau was in the 2005-06 season when Tech finished with a 23-9 record.
 
Jacksonville State is 9-19 on the season and is currently on a four-game losing streak. The Gamecocks 6-11 conference record places them in sixth place in the OVC standings
 
Opening tip between the Golden Eagles and the Gamecocks is set for 5:30 p.m.
