Marketing department adds Allison Price as graduate assistant

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Allison Price, a Tennessee Tech graduate and former athlete in basketball and track & field, will fill the graduate assistant position within the Corporate Marketing department at Tech for the coming school year.

Price will assist with all aspects of Corporate Marketing, specifically in the oversight of season ticket sales promotion, the enlisting of corporate sponsorships and updating marketing technology. She will also assist with the promotional public relations for special events including the Golden Eagle Scramble, Purple Pride Caravans and SOAR, and in creating a community presence for Tennessee Tech Athletics.

As a member of the women’s basketball team at Tech from 2005-2009, Price racked up 527 points, 292 assists and 269 rebounds in 116 games for the Golden Eagles. In her first year at Tech, she was honored as one of the team’s Most Improved Players for the 2005-06 season. A back-to-back winner of the Best Defensive Player award in 2007-08 and 2008-09, Price was also awarded the prestigious John P. Hendrix Leadership Award for the 2007-2008 season.

Following her basketball career, Price ran track under head coach Tony Cox for two seasons. As a sprinter, she shattered two school records in the 200m and 400m races. Price and another former teammate on the court, Meagan Lyons, combined for half of the school’s 4x100m relay team that also established a school record time.

“This is an opportunity for me to learn a lot under Misty Pearson (Director of Corporate Marketing) and gain a lot of experience in the field that I really want to work in,” said Price.

“Being a former five-year athlete at TTU, I’m also excited to be a part of the Tennessee Tech team in a different context,” she continued. “Now I have the opportunity to give back to the institution that defined my idea of what it means to be a part of a team.”

Price, a native of Atlanta, Ga., graduated with a degree in Marketing in 2008 and is currently working on her master’s degree in Instructional Leadership.
