Looking Back: A peek into the Golden Eagle photo archives

Note: Each week, the TTU Sports Information Staff will dig into the school's rich Photo Archives and publish a photo from the past. Some of the photos will include identification, but sometimes Tech will ask for viewers' help in identifying the people shown in the photo. To submit missing identification or comments about the photos in this series, send an email to: sportsinfo@tntech.edu.

Featured this week: We uncovered a photo from 2005-06 showing a pair of talented Tech high jumpers -- Amy Campbell and Ashley Brady -- as they celebrate finishing first and second in their event at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational. Amy Campbell set the school record in the high jump later that year by clearing the bar at 5 feet, 7 inches at the OVC Championships. The record was tied this past year by Katherine Lynn at the JSU Invitational.  While Lynn and Campbell sit at the top of the list, Brady still ranks fourth among all Tech high jumpers with a career-best mark of 5 feet, 3 inches.

Incidentally, both Lynn (who won the OVC individual championship in May) and Brady are from Cookeville and competed at Cookeville High School before attending Tech.

Editor's Note: Last week's featured photo showed basketball player Jimmy Elliott vs. Clemson in 1984-85. We are sad to report that Jimmy lost his fight against cancer and passed away on Sunday, July 25, at the age of 48.
