COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After beginning the 2010-11 season with a 4-1 record, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team begins its Ohio Valley Conference schedule Saturday as it hits the road to take on rival Jacksonville State.

"Jacksonville State is a very athletic and well coached team," head coach Sytia Messer said. "JSU always runs different things on defense. We just have to read the defenses well and play TTU basketball."

Jacksonville State owns a 2-4 record and has lost its last four contests including an 84-62 loss to Lipscomb. Tennessee Tech defeated Lipscomb 81-65 back on Nov. 18.

Tech owns a 10-3 all-time record against JSU, which includes a pair of wins last season during Messer's first season as head coach. Tech won a 68-59 decision at Jacksonville and followed up with a 77-61 victory at Eblen Center.

Opening tip is scheduled for 5:15 p.m., with the men's opening tip set for 7:45 p.m.
