First 300 fans wearing purple admitted free Saturday night

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The first 300 fans who are wearing purple into Eblen Center Saturday night will be admitted free to Tennessee Tech's Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against Jacksonville State. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the women's game tips at 5:30 p.m.

Coach Sytia Messer's team brings a 14-3 OVC record into the contest, and holds a one-game lead over Morehead State and UT Martin, both winners Thursday night to keep the pressure on the Golden Eagles. Those two OVC foes face each other in Martin Saturday, so one will finish with a 14-4 record. Tech has already assured itself of at least a share of the OVC title, but the Golden Eagles can clinch the crown outright with a win over Jacksonville State.

The men's game against the Gamecocks will follow at 7:30 p.m., and will be Senior Night, featuring a farewell to senior players Alfred Jones, Charles Newton and Byron Pickens.

For additional information, or for tickets visit the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center or call (931) 372-3940.
