Willemsen a regular for College ChalkTalk; contributes to National Coaches’ Diary Series

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Headed into his sixth season with Tennessee Tech men's basketball and tenth year working in college basketball, assistant coach Russ Willemsen has inarguably collected a wealth of knowledge regarding the game that he is so passionate about – knowledge that he is eager to share with other coaches and fans alike.

With College ChalkTalk's latest endeavor - aimed at educating coaches and fans about various basketball programs throughout the country and addressing the more difficult nuances of playing and coaching the game – Willemsen will join upwards of 70 other coaches from multiple conferences in having the opportunity to share his insight as an NCAA DI coach.

The National Coaches' Diary Series is the venue for these discussions. Launched by College ChalkTalk just prior to the 2009-10 season, the Series runs from November through March and is comprised of monthly contributions from multiple coaches regarding their teams and helpful strategies to implement this season.

"It's an honor to be asked to write again for College ChalkTalk," Willemsen said. "Chris DiSano [President and founder of CCT] has done a tremendous job growing this website to national recognition.

"The Diary Series is a great way to give college basketball fans an inside look into all of the different teams competing this season," Willemsen added.

Willemsen's "diary entry" ran on College ChalkTalk Tuesday, and speaks to the accomplishments of the Golden Eagle basketball team during their pre-season foreign goodwill tour to the Dominican Republic with G.O. Ministries.

The piece also contains footage from the trip highlighting mission work, game time and free time that the team had in the Dominican. As a regular contributor for College ChalkTalk, Willemsen's other published pieces include an introductory tribute for John Wooden's Pyramid of Success, saluting Wooden as an icon in NCAA basketball.

A full version of Willemsen's piece can be found at College ChalkTalk – National Coaches' Diary Series.
