Final road game of the regular season tips off in SIU-Edwardsville

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- In the final road game of the regular season, the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team heads to SIU-Edwardsville to face off against the future OVC rivals. Tip time is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Cougars, who will officially join the Ohio Valley Conference next season, are coming off a 90-67 loss on the road to South Dakota, which stretched their record to 7-20.

Tech, meanwhile, will look for its fourth straight win to notch their longest streak of the season. Most recently, the Golden Eagles defeated the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb in the Sears/ESPNU BracketBuster game in the Hoop, 60-58. Kevin Murphy scored Tech's final 10 points of the game to secure the win and finish with 16 on the night.

The win set the Golden Eagles up with a record of 16-11 (11-6 in conference) headed into the first of their final two games of the season, which puts them in third place in conference standings.

Tuesday's game will mark just the second meeting between Tech and SIUE and will be played in the Sam M. Vadalabene Center. Earlier this season, the Cougars left Cookeville having been dealt a 78-65 loss by the Golden Eagles. Murphy led Tech with 20 points while Cornelius Chatt fueled SIUE with 22.
