Team hosts Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night for TTU Employees
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will face off against the Governors of Austin Peay in a single-game event on Monday night in the Hoop. Tip time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Tech will be looking for a repeat performance of earlier this season, when Zac Swansey's three-point buzzer-beater gave the Golden Eagles a 71-68 road victory. He had 12 points and five assists on the game, and was joined by three other teammates in double-figure scoring. Zach Bailey led the way with 16 points, while Kevin Murphy notched 14 and Alfred Jones had 10.
The win narrowed the lifetime series to 66-68, giving APSU a slight edge. Tech, however, has won two of their past three meetings with the Govs.
With a conference record of 9-4 (15-10 overall), the Govs are a half of a game out of first place, while Tech's 8-5 stand (12-10 overall) puts them in a fourth place lock with Tennessee State.
Tickets are available by calling the TTU Ticket Office at (931) 372-3940 or online at TTUsports.com.
Fans who can't make it to the Hoop for Monday's game can listen to Roger Ealey call the action on the Golden Eagle Sports Network or on free Teamline at 1-800-846-4700 (Tech code 0654).
