COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Ohio Valley Conference basketball doubleheader against UT Martin is still scheduled to be played Thursday night in Tennessee Tech's Eblen Center. Tipoff for the women's game -- a battle for first place -- is at 5:30 p.m. The men's game follows at 7:30 p.m.

"We wanted to let fans know that the games are still on," said TTU Associate Director of Athletics Frank Harrell. "Because classes on Thursday have been cancelled at the University, there was some question whether the games would still be played. The UT Martin women's team is expected to arrive in Cookeville Wednesday night and the UT Martin men's team will be coming to town early Thursday."

Athletics officials are encouraging fans to use discretion in deciding whether to attend the game, depending on local road conditions in their area. Interstate 40 and main thoroughfares in Cookeville are mostly clear.

"Of course we advise everyone to use caution in their travels," Harrell added. "Many of our students have returned to campus to resume classes, and they should have little trouble getting across campus for the games. Again, we just advise them to be careful walking across campus, but crews have been out clearing sidewalks and roads, and spreading salt, so the campus is accessible."
