COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- This past Saturday, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team hosted its annual "Biscuits and Basketball" and "Maintain the Tradition" free throw fundraiser, marking one of the most successful pre-season events to date.
The event, a fan-favorite tradition, brings together Golden Eagle fans for a fun-filled morning of complimentary coffee, biscuits, a high-energy team workout, and time spent introducing the 2024-25 roster to the Tennessee Tech community.
Chick-fil-A of Cookeville, East Spring Gulf Market, and Genesis Coffee served as this year's sponsors and helped create a first-class environment for the large number of fans who attended.
This year's event was highlighted by the free throw fundraiser, which exceeded expectations both in participation and financial support. Fans, players, and staff came together, and the community showed its incredible generosity, helping to make this the biggest and best fundraiser yet. The funds raised will directly benefit the team's upcoming season, supporting travel, equipment, and other essential resources for the program.
Coach Kim Rosamond expressed her gratitude to the attendees, sponsors and donors, emphasizing how vital this tradition has become not only for financial support but also for building lasting connections between the players and the local community.
"What a fun morning with our fans and such a great way to get our community excited about this team and the upcoming season," she said. "We are beyond grateful for all who attended, for our incredible sponsors who helped make this the best event yet, and to our generous donors who made our fundraiser such a huge success. This event is truly a cornerstone for our program in so many ways. Your generosity, support and belief in the young women of our program make all the difference."
