2024-25 Maintain the Tradition pledge sheet
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech women's basketball team is gearing up for their annual "Biscuits and Basketball" meet and greet on Saturday at the Hooper Eblen Center.
Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., with the event offering fans an exclusive first glimpse of the 2024-25 Golden Eagle roster. A brief workout session will begin at 10 a.m., followed by team introductions and an autograph signing to conclude the workout.
Following "Biscuits and Basketball", the Golden Eagles will participate in their largest and longest-running fundraiser -- "Maintain the Tradition." Slated to take place around 11 a.m., each Golden Eagle player will shoot a total of 100 free throws. Fans can pledge any amount for each free throw made by a specific player or donate a flat amount on behalf of a player. The pledge sheet can be found here or fans can pick one up at the event.
Chick-fil-A and East Spring Gulf will serve as sponsors of this year's event with Chick-fil-A providing biscuits and East Spring Gulf providing Genesis coffee on a first come, first served basis. The event and refreshments are free to the public.
"This is such a fun way to bring our team and community together as well as signal the start of basketball being just around the corner," said head coach Kim Rosamond. "Every year this event continues to get bigger and better, and our free throw fundraiser is vital to our program in so many ways. We are truly grateful to Ben Prine with Chick-fil-A and Sam Agee of East Spring Gulf for helping us make it a first-class event. We can't wait to reconnect with all of our fans heading into the season."
Tech women's basketball is coming off a highly successful run, boasting its sixth-consecutive winning season and sixth-straight season of double-digit Ohio Valley Conference wins – a feat not seen since the Bill Worrell era as head coach. The Golden Eagles have reached the OVC tournament championship game in two of the last three seasons, cutting down the nets in 2023.
With four returning starters, an exciting and talented group of five freshmen, and three skilled transfers, expectations remain high as the team looks to build on its recent successes.
The Tech women host Lipscomb on October 29th in an exhibition contest as part of the Purple Palooza event. Doors open at 4 p.m., and admission is free to the public. The women will tip off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at approximately 7:30 p.m.
