COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech basketball games will be giving back to the community with two exhibition games that will be played for charity.
The Tech men's basketball team will host Austin Peay on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m., while the women's game against Lipscomb on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m. – part of the annual Purple Palooza event – in charity contests.
The NCAA allows exhibition games against Division I opponents before the start of the regular season if the games are charity contests.
The tickets for the Austin Peay men's contest will be $10 each, while the Lipscomb women's game will be free to public as part of the Purple Palooza event.
Proceeds will go to support the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Charitable Foundation. A QR code will be available for fans to give donations, while cash donations will also be accepted.
The CRMC Charitable Foundation is the largest charitable outreach organization in the Upper Cumberland working to help struggling patients with vital healthcare services. Gifts to the CRMC Charitable Foundation have gone to help 528 cancer patients, 129 heart patients, 38 hospice patients, 74 pediatric patients, help 310 with medical equipment, cover 752 screenings and 497 other procedures across the Upper Cumberland area.
