COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team heads south for a rematch with West Georgia Saturday afternoon, squaring off with the Wolves in a 1 p.m. CT contest at The Coliseum in Carrollton, Ga.

The action can be followed live via radio with Dylan Vazzano on the call on 106.1 The Eagle while video coverage of the contest will be provided on ESPN+.

Saturday's match-up marks the fifth in program history between Tech and West Georgia, with the Golden Eagles holding a 3-1 advantage. The purple and gold captured a 76-73 win in Cookeville back on Nov. 12, holding off a second-half rally by the Wolves.

The Golden Eagles earned a 67-53 win in the first meeting back in 1968 in Cookeville and followed it up with another home triumph in 1969, a 112-68 romp. Ten years later, in the most recent battle, the Wolves picked up their first victory in the series with a 97-82 decision at the Choo Choo Classic in Chattanooga in 1979.

West Georgia continues to search for its first win as a Division I program, making the transition this season. The Wolves dropped an 86-72 decision at Mercer Wednesday evening. Saturday's contest marks the first at home for West Georgia since an 84-65 loss to Troy back on Nov. 19.

Tech heads Saturday's affair following an 82-59 loss at North Alabama on Wednesday evening. The Cookeville crew struggled offensively to open both halves, finishing a combined 2-for-18 to start each stanza. North Alabama took advantage with its rebounding, using a 43-29 lead on the glass to build a large lead and keep it.

Junior forward Daniel Egbuniwe led Tech with 12 points, chipping in five rebounds on the night. Sophomore guard Kyle Layton turned in 11 points, all in the first half, sinking three triples with two dimes.

Junior guard Ray Glasgow chipped in 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting off the bench while fellow junior guard Jaylon Johnson led the team with five assists, mixing in six points and four boards as well. Senior forward Rodney Johnson Jr. tacked on eight points and a team-high seven boards.
