COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team wraps up its five-game road stretch with its second Ohio Valley Conference game of the season Thursday night, taking on Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo. in a 7:30 p.m. CT meeting.
The action can be followed live via radio with Roger Ealey on the call on 106.1 The Eagle while video coverage of the contest will be provided on ESPN+.
Thursday's match-up marks just the fourth in program history between Tech and Lindenwood, with the Golden Eagles holding a 2-1 advantage. After falling in the inaugural meeting between the two programs in St. Charles in 2022, the purple and gold have claimed each of the past two contests.
Tech squared the series with a 77-68 win in Cookeville on Feb. 16, 2023 and then took the lead in last season's lone match-up. Competing in St. Charles once again, the Golden Eagles used overtime to take a 62-53 victory back home with them.
Lindenwood enters Thursday's contest after picking up an 81-63 home win over IU Indy back on Dec. 14. The game will represent the Lions' OVC opener, who are looking for their third consecutive win.
The Golden Eagles head into the tilt following a tough, three-point defeat at Western Illinois Tuesday evening. The Leathernecks held off Tech in a 71-68 classic in Macomb, Ill. in the OVC's season opener.
Tech made it a one-point game with a triple with 1.2 seconds to play, but Western Illinois made its ensuing free throws to push back out by three. The Golden Eagles got one last look, a turnaround triple by Rodney Johnson Jr. that rolled around the iron and back out.
Junior guard Ray Glasgow dropped a career-high 20 points off the bench to lead Tech. The Bronx, N.Y. native finished 7-for-9 in just under 20 minutes for the visitors, sinking four treys on six tries and snagging five rebounds for good measure.
Johnson Jr. produced his first double-double of the year, scoring 19 points while hauling in a career-high 16 rebounds. He added three assists to the mix as well. Joining in on the double-digit scoring efforts was Jaylon Johnson, who provided 12 points and a pair of dimes on the night.
Senior guard Mekhi Cameron tallied seven points and five boards in just 18 minutes of action before exiting the ball game due to injury. Junior forward Ola Ajiboye chipped in two points, six rebounds, three dimes, two steals, and two blocks.
