COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team announced its first signing for the 2025-26 season, with McAdory High School's Jacobe Whitted committing to the Golden Eagles as the first member of the 2025 class.

A native of McCalla, Ala., Whitted was a letterwinner for head coach James Poindexter at McAdory High School, competing as a guard and forward. He led his team to an AHSAA Class 6A Area 7 title in 2024.
The team's MVP, he averaged 13.8 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game as a junior. He also helped lead MHS to their first-ever Class 6A Elite Eight.
This season, Whitted is averaging 24 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks per contest. A 1,000-point scorer already, he is on pace to finish his career ranked in top-five in school history in scoring.
The future Golden Eagle has produced at a steady rate throughout his prep career, leading off with 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists per game while competing as a freshman. He followed it up with another solid sophomore campaign, averaging 13 points, four boards, and three dimes per contest.
A three-star recruit by Rivals, 247Sports, On3, and ESPN, Whitted also had offers from Kennesaw State, Samford, and Alabama State. His older brother, Jacorey, is a freshman tight end on the Mississippi State football team.
