Golden Eagles look to claim fourth OVC road win of the season at Austin Peay

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- One of Tennessee Tech's oldest rivalries will take center stage Monday evening, as the TTU women's basketball team continues its road trip against the Austin Peay Lady Govs.

The opening tip is set for 7 p.m.

This will be the 88th meeting between the Golden Eagles and Lady Govs, with TTU dominating the all-time series at 70-17. Last season, Tech went 2-1 against APSU, with both teams winning on the road and the Golden Eagles claiming the third meeting in the third round of the OVC Tournament.

Monday's game will be the only meeting between the Golden Eagle women and Austin Peay this year during the reguar season due to the league's unbalanced schedule.

Currently sitting in fourth place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings, TTU improved to 7-4 in league play as it defeated Jacksonville State 62-50 last Saturday. Four Golden Eagles chimed in with at least 13 points, with sophomores Jala Harris and Molly Heady leading the way with 15.

Austin Peay (5-19/2-9 OVC) is currently on a seven-game slide, which includes four losses at home to Jacksonville State, Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee State and UT Martin.

Whitney Hanley leads the Lady Gov offense, averaging 18.7 points per game, while Leslie Martinez has averaged 7.0 points and a team-leading 5.7 rebounds per game.
