Golden Eagles continue OVC play at SIU Edwardsville

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With their first Ohio Valley Conference game in the books, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will look to draw even in conference play as they travel to SIU Edwardsville Monday for a 7 p.m. tip.

In their short history together the Golden Eagles have won both encounters against the Cougars, including a 62-58 victory last season in Edwardsville. Senior Tacarra Hayes posted a game-high 24 points, while junior Kellie Cook added 11.

TTU opened its OVC schedule with an 83-61 loss to UT Martin. Junior Jala Harris scored a career-high 22 rebounds, while senior Brittany Darling added 14 rebounds. Since joining the Golden Eagle squad, Harris has averaged 13.8 points per game.   

The Cougars are currently 7-5 on the season, including a 79-39 win over Jacksonville State in their first ever OVC contest. The SIUE offense is paced by three players who are averaging 10 points per game or more, including Michaela Herrod, who is averaging 10.8 points per game, and Raven Berry, who is averaging 10 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
