COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With the first part of the season behind them, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will start off their Ohio Valley Conference schedule as they take on the UT Martin Skyhawks Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Golden Eagles own an all-time record of 44-15 against the Skyhawks, with UTM winning two of last season's three meetings. Last season, the Golden Eagles and the Skyhawks met in the OVC Tournament Finals where UT Martin came away with the 82-76 win.

TTU hosted the Marshall Thundering Herd last Wednesday but were unable to come away with the win as Marshall took the 73-68 decision.

Senior Brittany Darling tallied a career-high 23 points against the Thundering Herd, while shooting 9-of-10 from the line, to pace the Golden Eagle offense. Senior Tacarra Hayes added 15 points of her own, while Jala Harris posted 10 points.

Hayes has paced the Golden Eagles offense this season with 233 points, while Brittany Darling has scored 101 points and sophomore Molly Heady has added 98.

The Skyhawks are currently 6-6 on the season, which includes a 70-57 loss to Louisville in their last game. On offense, UTM is paced by a pair of players in Heather Butler and Jasmine Newsome. Butler currently leads the Skyhawk offense, averaging 20.4 points per game, with Newsome following close behind with 17.7 points per game.
