Fans encouraged to recycle when they attend events in Eblen Center

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech fans attending basketball games in Eblen Center this season have noticed a new addition to the facility -- large recycling bottles. The big Pepsi bottles, each more than four feet tall, are located at nearly every entrance in the arena as well as around the concourse.

Tennessee Tech athletics has partnered with R-Cubed Environmental Solutions and Pepsi to provide for fans attending any event in Eblen Center -- from games to graduations -- the opportunity to help the environment by recycling plastic bottles and cans.

"Tennessee Tech Athletics is 'going green' with assistance from R-Cubed and Pepsi,"
explained Mark Wilson, TTU Director of Athletics. "We are encouraging everyone to recycle at every event in Eblen Center. R-Cubed will empty the containers and recycle the materials."

"R-Cubed Environmental Solutions is proud to manage the conservation needs of Tennessee Tech Athletics," said Jason McCormick, co-owner of R-Cubed. "Tennessee Tech is showing social responsibility and its awareness that conservation is important for our area and beyond.

"Mark Wilson knows that Tech, being a leader in this community, will inspire and influence others to take part in this 'green initiative.' Our hope as a partnership is to lead by example to show others how to conserve at home, work and in their everyday lives in general."
