Bailey, Inameti head to Belmont for 5th Annual All-Star Classic

Nashville, Tenn. — Tennessee Tech's Zach Bailey and Bassey Inameti are set to participate in the 5th Annual Music City All-Star Classic on Saturday, April 28 at Belmont University. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a 6 p.m. start at the Curb Event Center.

The Classic consists of a 3-point contest, slam dunk contest and all-star game and will showcase some of the best senior men's basketball players from area colleges. Joining Bailey and Inameti will be Scott Saunders (Belmont), Mick Hedgepeth (Belmont), James Justice (Martin Methodist), Gerald Robinson (UGA), Dee Bost (Mississippi State), Kenny Gabriel (Auburn), Ivan Aska (Murray State), Kenny Moore and Wil Peters (TSU) to name a few.

This event is a great event for the youth who have dreams to play collegiate basketball and provides the opportunity for Music City to host senior athlete talent from various Universities and Conferences. It will exemplify the "Last Show Off of College Talent" before participants move to the next level or further their careers in another field.

"It's always good for our guys to close out the season with an event like this," head coach Steve Payne said. "As a senior, its hard to feel like you've played your last game. This gives Zach and Bassey an opportunity to get on the court again in an informal setting and in a way that will encourage younger kids interested in the game."

Bailey closed out the season with 260 points, shooting .425 from the floor and .341 from downtown. He averaged 7.9 points per game, and went 77-for-93 from the charity stripe for a .828 free throw percentage. Inameti averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game, finishing the season with 115 points while shooting .558 from the floor.

Other schools participating include Trevecca, Freed Hardeman, UTC, Cumberland and Lee. Darren McFarland and Brad Hopkins of 102.5 The Game "1st Quarter" will act as coaches for the all-star game.

Tickets are $15 for General Admission and $10 for students with valid IDs, and are on sale at www.ticketsnashville.com. Proceeds will help benefit Soles 4 Souls, where $1 equals one pair of shoes. Attendees are also encouraged to bring new and/or used shoes to donate.
