Golden Eagles head to Middle Tennessee

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- An old rivalry takes center stage Wednesday evening as the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team hits the road to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders beginning at 7 p.m.

This will be the 88th meeting between TTU and MTSU with the Golden Eagles owning a 50-37 record over the Blue Raiders. Middle Tennessee has won the last six meetings against Tennessee Tech however, with TTU's last win coming in the 2004-05 season.

TTU is currently 2-2 on the season, with its most recent win over Tennessee Wesleyan. The Golden Eagles finished the Preseason WNIT with 1-2 record, including an 87-76 win over ETSU and a pair of losses to UCLA and Long Island.

The Golden Eagles are led by senior Tacarra Hayes, who leads the team in scoring (61), rebounds (19) and assists (18). R-Freshman Candace Parson has also been making an impact lately, scoring at least 10 points in Tech's last three games. Against Tennessee Wesleyan, Parson scored a career-high 13 points.

The Blue Raiders enter the game with a 2-2 record, including a 60-46 loss to James Madison in their most recent game. MTSU has two players averaging 15 points per game including Icelyn Elie and Kortni Jones, and has one player, Ebony Rowe, averaging a double-double with 13.5 points and 10 rebounds per game.
