COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech senior Lashay Davis capstoned a regular season championship Monday with her second adidas® Newcomer of the Week honor of the season. In her final outing at the Eblen Center, Davis scored a career-high 21 points, going 4-for-6 from behind the arc, and shot just under 60 percent from the floor against Morehead State on Saturday.

Davis recorded the team's fourth OVC honor of the year, joining Diamond Henderson (11/20) and Jala Harris (2/5) who received the honor in addition to the two by Davis. A guard from Baxter, Tenn., Davis notched her first Player of the Week honor on Nov. 20 after she put up 9.5 points per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor.

UT Martin's Jasmine Newsome was named Player of the Week while Austin Peay's Tiasha Gray received the nod for Freshman of the Week.

Davis and the Golden Eagles will be on the court Friday at 2 p.m. in Nashville in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament. They will face either SIUE, Tennessee State or Belmont.
