In 2011-12 (Junior): Jala made an instant impact for the Golden when she became eligible to play in December…she finished the season as TTU’s second leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game...she made 20 starts in 24 games last season, 19 of which came in Tech’s final 20 games of the season…she posted at least 10 points in all but two of her games and broke the 20-point plateau on four occasions…tallied career-high 26 points at Tennessee State (2/11) to go along with a career-high six rebounds…finished second on the team in three point field goals with 30 and second on the team in assists with 62…she was named to the all-OVC Second Team, the OVC all-Newcomer Team and the OVC all-Tournament Team…named the OVC Newcomer of the Week three times…received Tech’s Newcomer of the Year Award…named to the TTU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

UAB: Named C-USA Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year...also named second team All-C-USA and to the C-USA All-Freshman Team...received C-USA All-Tournament honors...earned C-USA Freshman of the Week five times...set a school record for freshmen with 103 assists ... averaged 15.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 3.2 apg...scored 25 points in her collegiate debut...also grabbed nine rebounds and went 7-of-8 from the stripe...became the first player in C-USA history to earn three straight weekly awards after receiving Freshman of the Week honors...became the first freshman in C-USA history to score 40 points in a game against Marshall... finished freshman season with 24 double-digit games...wrapped up her career at UAB with 693 points, 138 assists and 129 rebounds.

High School: Jala played four seasons as a point guard for Bob Jones High School...she helped guide her team to two state championships and received the award of Miss Basketball...named the Regional MVP her junior and senior seasons...named first-team all-state her senior season, averaging 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds a game.
