Jim Davis names Brooke McKinnon-Evans as Director of Women's Basketball Operations

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- New Tennessee Tech women's basketball coach Jim Davis has added another integral piece to his staff with the addition of Brooke McKinnon-Evans as Director of Basketball Operations.

"We are thrilled to have Brooke McKinnon-Evans as a member of our staff. She comes very highly recommended."

Tech is familiar territory to the newcomer.  McKinnon-Evans is married to former Golden Eagle football player Jake Evans, class of 2007. Married last year, the couple has been living in Cookeville.

When McKinnon-Evans learned of Davis becoming Tech's new coach, she called on some friends to meet Davis in person. They interviewed on the Fourth of July. By the end of the interview, McKinnon-Evans knew this would be a great opportunity for her.

"I love all of the coaches. We're going to have a great year," said McKinnon-Evans. "I had a great experience as a player for Lee University, and I'm hoping to have the same here at Tech."

"Brooke is fitting right in, she's a personality plus," Davis added. "She's the front door of our program, the one they talk with first. She's doing a great job already. She will be behind the scenes quite often, but she will make the basketball office quick. Her coach couldn't say enough good things about her work ethic."

McKinnon-Evans, a 2011 graduate of Lee University, was a four-year starter for the Lady Flames.

During her time at Lee, McKinnon team made four appearances in the NAIA tournament, including a trip to the final-four her junior season.

McKinnon collected four SSAC All-Conference selections, two SSAC All-Tournament selections, and during her freshman year, she was named the SSAC Freshman of the Year. In her sophomore campaign, McKinnon was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American before earning third team All-American her junior season, and second team All-American her senior season. McKinnon became the second all-time leading scorer in Lee University history.
