COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—After two solid performances this past week, Tennessee Tech women basketball's Akia Harris has been named the adidas® OVC Freshman of the Week on Feb. 7.
Harris averaged 10 points, 5.5 assists, and 5 rebounds over Tech's two contests this past week. She totaled 13 points, six rebounds and six assists to open the week in the Golden Eagle's 81-71 victory over UT Martin. She shot 41.7 percent from the field in the contest, while connecting on a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.
Harris then recorded seven points, five assists, and four rebounds in Tech's second matchup at Eastern Illinois. There she kept her streak going at the free throw line when she connected on a perfect 4-for-4.
The Golden Eagles continue OVC contests on Wednesday with an 11 a.m. tip at Tennessee State.
