COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech basketball programs are headed out into the Upper Cumberland for their third practices of the newly minted 2016-17 seasons Tuesday evening, as both the men's and women's Golden Eagle squads will host their normally scheduled practice at Pickett County High School in Byrdstown, Tenn.

The Tech women's team will kick off the evening with their practice scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The men's team will follow at the conclusion of the women's session.

"These practices are a great way for both programs to step outside the Cookeville community and connect with our fans in the Upper Cumberland," head women's coach Kim Rosamond said. "This will be an opportunity for fans to not only get a glimpse of our teams, but also a chance to interact, face-to-face, with our players and coaches."

"We feel like we are the Upper Cumberland's teams," head men's coach Steve Payne explained, "and we need to continue to be that. This is a way for us to go out and get Tennessee Tech basketball in front of our fan base in Pickett County and we're excited to do so."

The Golden Eagle women will kick off their 2016-17 regular season on Friday, Nov. 11 with a home contest against Wright State at 6 p.m. CT. The squad will also host North Alabama on Monday, Nov. 7 in a 6 p.m. exhibition match-up.

The Tech men's team gets its 2016-17 campaign underway with a road trip to Georgia Tech on Friday Nov. 11 for a 7 p.m. CT tilt.
