Golden Eagles head to Indianapolis to face-off against IUPUI on Wednesday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team (3-7) will quickly turn things around and hit the road to take on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI, 7-2) on Wednesday in a 6 p.m. contest in The Jungle.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams in school history. 

Yaktavia "Shug" Hickson leads the Golden Eagles averaging 14.5 points per game on the season, which marks her fourth amongst OVC opponents. Hickson shoots 38.1 percent from the field, 25.7 percent from the three-point range, and 83.3 percent from the free throw line (tied at fourth in the OVC). She averages 3.2 boards per game and has tallied 16 assists on the year. 

Senior Treyvonna "Trey" Brooks is another key player on the squad, serving as a threat both offensive and defensively for the Golden Eagles. Brooks is Tech's second leading scorer averaging 10.0 points per game and the leading rebounder averaging 7.0 rebounds per game. Her 7.0 boards per game marks her ninth in the OVC, and her 3.7offensive rebounds per game rank her first amongst OVC players. Brooks shoots 45.3 percent from the floor and 63.2 percent from the charity stripe. She also leads the Golden Eagles in blocks with 13 on the year, which marks her seventh in the OVC. 

Hannah Goolsby stands as Tech's third leading scorer averaging 8.3 points per game. She averages 3.5 off the glass per contest, while shooting 30.5 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from downtown, and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. Goolsby has also tallied 18 assists and a team-high 16 steals thus far this season. 

Danielle Lawrence leads IUPUI in buckets this season averaging 15.0 points per game. Lawrence shoots 37.4 percent from the floor, 32.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 76.5 percent from the charity stripe. She averages 4.0 rebounds per game and has dished out 22 assists thus far this season, which is the second best mark on the squad. 

Mikale Rogers is another threat for the Jaguars. Rogers is the second leading scorer (14.0 points per game) and leading rebounder (8.0 boards per game) on the squad. She shoots 49.1 percent from the field and 68.8 percent from the free throw line, while also leading the team in blocks with 22 on the season. 

Sydney Hall will be another player to look out on IUPUI's lineup. Hall averages 10.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. She shoots 50.8 percent from the field, 50 percent from downtown, and 76.2 percent from the charity stripe. 

As a team, the Golden Eagles shoot 35.5 percent from the field, 26.9 percent from the three-point range, and 68.9 percent from the free throw line, while the Jaguars shoot 44.1 percent from the floor, 37.4 percent from dowtown, and 73.3 percent from the charity stripe. Tech averages 36.7 rebounds and 16.3 turnovers per game to IUPUI's 37 boards and 17.1 turnovers per game.
