COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—Tennessee Tech head women's basketball coach Kim Rosamond announced the signing of Peace Okeke, a 6'0" forward who hails from Abatete, Nigeria, to the 2017-18 team.
"Peace is an extremely gifted player," Rosamond said. "She is an exceptional rebounder and is absolutely relentless at pursuing the basketball. She is also a standout in track, and fans will love her ability to run the floor and finish in transition. Peace will add a dimension of athleticism and strength that not many teams in the OVC can match. Her upside as a basketball player is tremendous, and her personal story and journey is even more inspiring. The Tennessee Tech community will love having her in purple and gold for the next four years."
Okeke will become a Golden Eagle after a two-year career at Davidson Academy, where she will prep her final season under the direction of Troy Carnes. As a junior, she led her team to a 21-10 mark. Okeke averaged 14.4 points, 11.2 boards, and 2.4 blocks per game on the 2015-16 season.
"I chose to attend Tech because I love the coaches," Okeke remarked. "I want to be coached by people as motivated as they are, and would love to be a part of the great program they plan on building at Tennessee Tech. I feel like I will accomplish a lot of things as a Golden Eagle, and especially with Coach Rosamond. I believe she is not only going to make me a better basketball player, but she will also help me become a better student and individual as well. I love her vision for success both on the court and in the classroom."
While at Davidson, Okeke is also a member of the track team. She placed second at State Div. A/AA in the 200-meter and third in the 100-meter during the 2015-16 season.

Athletic Honors: Named to the All-District team and to the East-Middle All-Tournament team.
With the addition of Okeke, the Golden Eagles signed a total of seven high school standouts during the early signing period, which ended on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
