MOREHEAD, Ky. - Following a pair of losses at Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, the Tennessee Tech men's and women's basketball teams will head to Morehead, Ky., on Saturday for a doubleheader against the Eagles of Morehead State. Game time for the women's game is set for 4:07 p.m. at Johnson Arena, while the men will tip-off at 7:07 p.m.

The Tech women will have their hands full against Morehead State, a team that sports a 17-7 overall record and 10-2 mark in OVC action. The Eagles, one of the leading 3-point shooting teams in the nation, made 17 3-pointers as they knocked off Jacksonville State, 80-53, on Thursday evening. MSU is second in the conference standings and boast a 5-1 record at home.

For the Golden Eagles, a win at Morehead State would be paramount following their deflating, 61-60, loss to Eastern Kentucky on Thursday. Tech had a four-point lead with less than a minute to play but could not secure the team's second OVC road win of the season as the Golden Eagles dropped to 9-13 overall and 4-8 in the conference. TTU sits in ninth place in the OVC but is just one game out of the sixth.

Saturday's game will be a match-up of two high-scoring guards in Morehead State's Chynna Bozeman and Tech's Tacarra Hayes. Bozeman leads the conference in scoring at 19.0 points per game and is averaging more than three made 3-pointers per game this season. Hayes ranks second in scoring (16.7 ppg) in the OVC and posted a conference-best 39 points in a game earlier this season against Austin Peay.

Both the men's and women's games will be broadcast on the Wazoo Sports Network in Kentucky. Fans outside of Kentucky can follow both games any one of three ways. The games will be broadcast live on WHUB-AM 1400, as well as teamline by calling 1-800-846-4700 (team code 0654) or visiting www.teamline.cc. The game will also be web streamed live on OVCsports.tv. Finally, Fans can follow the action on live stats, available at msueagles.com.

The Golden Eagle men's team will look to get back to its winning ways in the second half of Saturday's double-header. Tech had its four-game win streak snapped against Thursday night against Eastern Kentucky.

Morehead State is rebounding from a win streak of its own. The Eagles won 11 games in a row before Austin Peay came up with a 56-55 victory over MSU on Jan. 31. The Eagles have won 12 of their last 13 games and are 16-7 overall, and second in the OVC at 10-2 in league play.

MSU is led by one of the most dominating players in NCAA basketball, Kenneth Faried. Faried leads the nation in rebounds, averaging 13.7 per game, and is second in the country in double-doubles, as he has accumulated 16 on the season. Faried is second in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game.

Tech's Kevin Murphy is fifth in the OVC in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game. Frank Davis is scoring 14.3 points per game for the Golden Eagles, and is leading the team in 3-point percentage, hitting 46.0 percent from downtown. The Golden Eagles are second in the OVC in scoring offense, averaging 75.6 points per game.

Tech's game against Morehead State will be the fifth of five games for the Golden Eagles against NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago. The Golden Eagles are 0-4 this year in those games including a loss to Morehead State earlier in the season.

Morehead State owns a 68-61 advantage in the all-time series against Tech, including a win earlier this season. MSU has won four straight in the series.

After Saturday's game, the men's team will visit Austin Peay on Feb. 9 before both teams return home to face Murray State on Feb. 11 on Pack the House Night.
