20-year anniversary for women’s OVC champs from 1989-90
and 10-year anniversary for 1999-2000 league champions

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Calling all former Tennessee Tech basketball players, men and women, starters and reserves, from every era and every age.

Calling all Tennessee Tech basketball fans, too.

Former Golden Eagle men's and women's basketball players are invited back to campus on Saturday, Jan. 23, when the university will host its annual Basketball Alumni Day. Tech will hosts Tennessee State in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader in Eblen Center, and one feature of the night will be the gathering of former players, managers and coaches.

A special feature will be the 20-year anniversary reunion of the 1989-90 Ohio Valley Conference champion women’s team, and the 10-year anniversary reunion of the squad that won the 1999-2000 conference title, both under Hall of Fame coach Bill Worrell.

The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m., with the men's contest to follow at 7:30 p.m., but the activities for Alumni Day begin earlier in the day.

All former women’s players invited to the gameday shootaround session of first-year coach Sytia Messer’s squad at 11 a.m. For men’s players returning for Alumni Day, coach Mike Sutton’s men’s team will hold its shootaround at 2 p.m.

All basketball alumni are invited to the attend the shootaround sessions to watch their teams prepare for the games against the TSU Tigers.

From 3-5 p.m., alumni and guests are invited to an Alumni Reception in the Eagles’ Nest in Eblen Center. Activities will also include a tour of the new basketball coach's office complex. Alumni are welcome to visit the Eagles’ Nest between games, as well.

There will be a special recognition at halftime of each game for all former players and coaches who are on hand.
