Doubleheader vs. Southeast Missouri will go on Saturday as scheduled

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Despite wintry conditions across the region, Tennessee Tech will host its Saturday night doubleheader against Southeast Missouri in Eblen Center as scheduled. The women's tilt tips off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The games are important for both Tech teams as they battle for position in the tight Ohio Valley Conference races.

Senior Frank Davis will be recognized prior to the men's game for achieving his 1,000 career points, a milestone he reached Thursday night in Tech's win over Eastern Illinois.

The night will also feature two promotions in Eblen Center, one for the victims in Haiti and one to help stop the H1N1 flu.

Fans are encouraged to bring canned foods or other non-perishable items as donations to the collection for Haiti. The TTU women's basketball squad is teaming up with The Gathering in collecting the food. Donations will be collected in the lobby of Eblen Center.

Also, the Putnam County Health Dept. is offering free H1N1 vaccinations to all who need the shot (or mist). Each person being vaccinated at the arena Saturday night will receive a free ticket to the game.

The ticket office in Eblen Center will open at 4:30 p.m.
