JASON EMBRY

Jason came to Tennessee Tech prior to the 1995-96 season to play for coach Frank Harrell. The junior college transfer made an immediate impact for the Golden Eagles, cracking the starting rotation just halfway through his first season with the team. Jason started 13 of Tech‚s final 14 games and averaged over 11 points and nearly three rebounds in 25 minutes per game in the final seven games of the season.

During his senior campaign Jason scored in double figures six times, including a career-high 23 points in a win against UT Martin. After the 1997 season Embry earned the Sam Harley Lynn Award, given to the player with the greatest overall contribution to the team, which is considered the highest achievement by a Tech basketball player.

In two seasons at Tech Jason hit 94 3-pointers and averaged 6.1 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Jason was also known for his success in the classroom, as he won the Presidents Award, Academic Award and Overall GPA Award twice each in addition to the Sam Harley Lynn Award.
