COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The 2009-10 Tennessee Tech men’s basketball regular season will come to a close Saturday night in Eblen Center, but not without a bang. Seniors Frank Davis and Elijah Muhammad, who will be playing their last home game as a Golden Eagle, have been major contributors for Tech this season. Davis is second on the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game and is first in the OVC, and among the nations leaders, in 3-point field goal percentage and 3-pointers made. Muhammad leads the Golden Eagles and is second in the OVC in assists, averaging 4.5 per game, and is third on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game. In just two seasons at Tech he has moved up to 19th in school history in career assists, with 218 entering Saturday’s game.

Tech owns a slim 9-8 advantage in the all-time series against Jacksonville State, including an 83-72 loss at JSU earlier this season. Tech is 5-5 in its last 10 meetings with the Gamecocks.

Tech will learn its OVC tournament fate after playing Jacksonville State, and is likely to face Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky or Eastern Illinois with a win, or Morehead State with a loss.
