Nick Etherton joins Golden Eagle roster for 2025-26 campaign

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's golf head coach Polk Brown recently announced the addition of Chattanooga transfer Nick Etherton for the 2025-26 athletic season. He joins incoming freshmen Cooper Gettler and Bryson White as newcomers to the Golden Eagle squad.

High School: William Blount High School
Previous School: Chattanooga

Etherton competed the past three seasons at in-state rival Chattanooga, playing under the direction of head coaches Mark Guhne and Blaine Woodruff. During his tenure as a Moc, he competed in five tournaments while putting forth a scoring average of 74.93.

Last season, the Friendsville, Tenn. native took part in two events for UTC, averaging a score of 77.17. As a sophomore in 2023-24, he competed in one tournament, firing a career-low 216 to tie for 27th at the Furman Intercollegiate. 

During his rookie campaign in 2022-23, Etherton made his collegiate debut at the Saint Mary's Invite at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, posting a 225. He also turned in a 220 at the Wofford Intercollegiate.

A letterwinner at William Blount High School in Maryville, Tenn., Etherton competed for head coach Michael Bradshaw. He tied for 10th at the 2021 TSSAA Class AA State Championship as a senior and also qualified for the event as a freshman in 2018, also tying for 10th. 

He posted six wins on the Sneds Tour during his junior career and five more runner-ups. From 2017-19, Etherton turned in 16 top-three showings, including 13 in a row. He picked up Knox News All-PrepXtra in 2021.
