NORMAN, Okla. – In addition to excellent work out on the course, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team was honored on Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America as it received a 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award as it was named to the NCAA Division I All-Academic Team list.
A record 292 across six divisions – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Division I and II – were recognized with the Platform Golf Team Academic Award, collecting a cumulative 3.0 grade point average or better
"I am so proud of this team and how well they did in the classroom," Tech men's golf head coach Polk Brown said. "To receive this award shows how much of a priority school is to them. Furthermore, to do this well while balancing the schedule they have with golf is tremendous."
Tech and SIUE, representing the Ohio Valley Conference, were among the 92 NCAA Division I All-Academic Team winners, while Little Rock earned Presidents Special Recognition with a 3.5 or better GPA.
The Presidents Special Recognition list included 129 schools across all divisions with a 3.5 or better.
The GCAA's Academic National Champions included Harvard (3.955) for NCAA Division I, Findlay (3.83) for NCAA Division II, Bowdoin (3.81) for NCAA Division III, SCAD Savannah (3.74) for NAIA, Iowa Western (3.69) for NJCAA Division I, Southwestern (Iowa, 3.41) for NJCAA Division II and Alabama State (3.707) for HBCUs.
